Release:
Q:
Why conduct a Census?
A: As required by Article VII,
Section 7 (f) of our Constitution and By-Laws, we have to come up with a
reasonable and equitable definition of our Regional and/or Sectional Boundaries
and to achieve this we must first determine the demographics of all our Members
by conducting a Census. In addition,
with this Census we will also be able to know our true strength, vital
information that we have long been longing to know.
Q:
What assurance can we get that our personal information will not be use for
other purposes?
A: As
required by Article VII, Section 7 (d) of our CBL, the Commission is duty bound
to act as the Protector of our Members’ Confidential data. Rest assured that
all information gathered by the Commission will only be used for the purpose of
Census.
Q:
Why are we limiting the Census to Community Based for Alumni Associations?
A: We are limiting the Census to
Community Based for Alumni Associations (Recognized and Unrecognized) to
eliminate double counting of members. Since the primary objective of the Census
is to determine the demographics of our Organizational Units and all our
Members, limiting the Census to Community Based for Alumni Associations should
be observed.
Q:
I am the President of a Community Based Alumni Association. In addition to
members who reside in our community we also consider those who work in our
community as members also of our association. What should I report on the
Census?
A: It is important that you only
count and report the total number of members who are presently residing in your
community. You should, however, inform those who were not included for them to
do what is necessary so as to be in the census.
Q:
I am a member of a Community Based Alumni Association. Should I fill-up the
Census Form?
A: No. You should not but it is
important that you urge your Alumni Association President to fill-up the Census
Form for the Alumni Association to be included.
Q:
I am a member to a number of Alumni Associations none of which a Community
Based. Should I fill-up the Census Form?
A: Yes. You should fill-up the Census
Form as an Individual Member (Section C.).
Q:
I am a member to a number of Community Based Alumni Associations. Will that be a
problem?
A: Yes, this can be a problem if you
don’t do anything. It is important that you inform the President of the Alumni
Associations as to which Association you should be counted for the purpose of
this Census.
Q:
I am a Resident Member. Should I fill-up the Census Form?
A: No. You should not but it is
important that you urge your Chapter GC &/or GLC to fill-up the Census Form
for the Chapter to be included.
Q: I am out of school right now. Should I fill-up the Census Form?
A: Yes. You should fill-up the Census
Form as an Individual Member (Section C.).
Q:
Where can we get copies of the Census Form?
A: Although copies were sent to the
National Office, to the National Officers and Regional Directors, you can
download an electronic copy at the following website: www.census.apo.org.ph
It will be a great help if you can inform other members and organizational units
regarding this Census.
Q:
I do not know my Region and Section. Can I leave it blank?
A: No. You should not leave it blank.
The APO Census Kit being distributed is composed of three (3) parts – the
